About Crawshays

About

I set up Crawshays to combine my ambition to represent exceptional British artists with my commitment to philanthropy. When there is an appropriate opportunity to involve a charity, we do and every time we make a sale, a percentage goes to charity.

This intention evolved from a selling exhibition of photographs that I organised in 2007, called Off The Wall,  to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.

The live auction, conducted by Philippe Garner of Christies, featured photographs by Slim Aarons, Bryan Adams, Eve Arnold, Richard Avedon, David Bailey, Fernand Fonssagrives, Horst P Horst, Perry Ogden, Terry O’Neill, Irving Penn and Mario Testino. Between the live and the silent auction, we sold over sixty photographs.

As well as Philippe, I was supported by a fantastic committee that included some of London’s most respected experts such as Zelda Cheatle, Michael Hoppen, Tim Jeffries, Camilla Lowther and Sophie Molins.

We raised just over £236,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
